Gulf War Sanctions (Aug. 6th, 1990)
-The United Nation's security council made Resolution 661, which terminated economic sanctions on Iraq. (full trade embargo)
-The sanctions got rid of medical supplies and any other necessary supplies needed by humans. These supplies were determined by the Security Council Sanctions Committee.
-Led to hyperinflation (extreme inflation), widespread poverty, and malnutrition (lack of proper nutrition).
-Between 500,000 and 1.2 million children died during the sanctions.

Highway to Death
-Iraqi forces left Kuwait on the main highway in a column of about 1,400 vehicles
-A patrolling aircraft saw the forces and sent the information to the air operations center
-The vehicles and escaping soldiers were attacked, leading to a 60km stretch of highway filled with debris
